FAQ

We’ve tried to make it as simple as possible to take part in the Japan Discovered! Japan Travel Tweetchat but have addressed some common questions in this FAQ.

How do I join in the Japan Discovered! Japan Travel Tweetchat?

You can join in two ways:

  2. Tweet us directly @JapanDiscovered with the #JapanTravel hashtag.

Either way you join us it’s possible to follow the conversation on the Japan Travel Tweetchat page where all the questions and answers will be streamed live.

When are the tweetchats scheduled?

Japan Travel Tweetchats are scheduled every Friday between 12 Noon and 1 PM Japan Standard Time.  Below is a table showing the start times in some major cities around the world.  If your location is not on the list please check your local time.

  1. Pacific Standard Time (e.g. Los Angeles, California, USA)  – Thursday’s at 8PM
  2. Eastern Standard Time (e.g. New York, New York, USA) – Thursday’s at 11PM

Do I need to input my Twitter password?

No, the Tweetizen widget we use integrates OAuth into their application. OAuth keeps you safer, as your private information (your username and password) are only ever entered into a secure Twitter window that we popup – meaning you are as safe with us as you are with Twitter themselves.

What if I don’t have a Twitter account?

Twitter is the easiest way to take part in the Tweetchat in real-time and it’s a fun way to meet and interact with like minded people.  Join Twitter.

If you don’t want to create a Twitter account you can submit your Japan Travel questions from the Japan Discovered! contact page and we’ll answer them on the next scheduled tweetchat.

You can still follow along on the Japan Travel Tweetchat page if you are online at the time of the chats.

How else can I find out what happened on the Japan Travel Tweetchat?
